Oz Panto’s Jack and the Beanstalk tells the story of Jack and the Beanstalk with a 3D sequence that transports audiences deep into the Giant’s castle.
I always look forward to Oz Panto’s shows they are always a lot of fun and I love seeing the kids reaction to the show. This is the second pantomime that I have seen, the first being Sleeping Beauty the previous year by Oz Panto.
The cast for Jack and the Beanstalk – Luke Joslin , Lucy Durak, Peter Rowsthorn, Jimmy Rees, Richard Reid, Malcolm Lord Anastasia Feneri and Lachlan Dearing. I love seeing the junior ensemble perform and try to see if I can see both groups perform. The adult ensemble had new faces and they were all amazing dancers and hope to see them perform again. I always like seeing the shows a few times as the ensemble always do interesting things in the background that make me chuckle.
This time around the set is a mixture of stage backdrops and props but also 3D projection. I really enjoyed the #D aspect of the show and it was really well done. It fit really well in the Giant’s castle and couldn’t think of another way for the Giant’s castle scenes to be.
The costumes were beautiful and were perfect for each character, especially Lucy’s dress. I really liked all the outfits for the ensemble in Joslin’s number as well as Luke Joslin’s suit jacket.
Overall I loved Jack and the Beanstalk and will continue to go see the new OzPanto productions each July school holidays.
